The Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, a holy shrine dedicated to Sai Baba, is located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India. It is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations of India, attracting millions of devotees every year.
The temple complex is spread over an area of 200 sq. mt. and is open to the people of all religions, caste and creed. The main shrine is known as the ‘Samadhi Temple’, where the mortal body of Sai Baba was actually buried and later, a Samadhi was built at that place. Besides the Samadhi Temple, there is a beautiful sculptured idol of Sai Baba in a sitting position, which cannot be described in words. Apart from this, the temple complex also has gardens and many other places that are related with the life of Sai Baba.
There are three main festivals organized in Shirdi with full enthusiasm and joy, which attracts a huge number of devotees from all over the country. These festivals are – Ramnavami in March/April, Guru Purnima in July, and Vijayadashmi in September/October. During these festivals, the Samadhi Mandir remains open the entire night. A palki bearing the photograph of Sai Baba is taken out from the temple on every Thursday, as Thursday is a very auspicious day of Sai Baba.

Shirdi is a holy place which is full of devotees all the time throughout the year. The temple remains open from 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM.
How to reach Shirdi Sai Baba Temple
The nearest airports are at Nasik (about 75 kms away from Shirdi) and Aurangabad (about 150 kms away from Shirdi). The nearest railway station is the Kopergaon railway station, which is at a distance of 16 kms from Shirdi.
